Let me introduce us
We are Karin & Flo.
2001 I came in contact with the first Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Ctoret Beni’s Ridges and Mehannas Mataco at Ulrike Lichtenauers house. A year later, a little Livernose was born at her Kennel `of Ka Ul Li’s Ridges‘ and stayed – Hema of Ka Ul Li’s Ridges.
Hema was somehow always my dog, even she lived the first 7 years with Ulrikes pack – due to my fulltime Job- and then she decided she wants to move in at my place for her retirement 😉.
After Hema passed away aged 14 years and 9 months a little female form Hungary – African Mashumba Asha moved in. She was in co-ownership with Ulrike too and the plan was, that she would have some litters at Ulrikes Kennel. Asha combines all bloodlines used in Ulis Kennel in her.
In the first year Asha was in ‘Kindergarten’ at Ulrikes place, then she was allowed to go to work with my husband and accompanies him every day.
Ulrike and I worked together for many years and shared the passion for dogs. Together we raised 17 litters.
2019 Ulrike suddenly passed away. At that time 4 dogs were living at her place. 2 of them stayed with her Husband, one moved to a very, very dear friend and breeder in Switzerland and Zurimahali Fiona moved in with us. Fiona is also going to work every day now with Flo.
We decided not to take over Ulrikes Kennel name, it is her lifetime work, her legacy and it will always be hers. We will keep up the homepage www.ka-ul-lis-ridges.com for her.
But we will keep going on.
We registered our own Kennel Name: Hemas Hellhounds
Why this name – i think the first part is very obvious –because of Hema of Ka Ul Li’s Ridges, for the second part – this is somehow a mix of Asha and Hema, Hema was called „Teufelsroller“, „red devil“,…. Asha has the nicknames „Monster“, „paprika queen“, … someone dear once said – you and your dogs from hell.
